I bought the headphones in a sale for less than 2000 CZK - I evaluate them with respect to this price. And for the money, I find them ultimately awesome and quite versatile. BUT I wouldn't buy them for full price (mainly because true wireless are actually consumables). I was buying as a replacement for my AudioTechnica Sport7s which after about 2,5 years started to slowly fall apart. (Probably aggressive sweat or something. ). What attracted me to these is the design, where they are not inserted directly into the ear canal like most. Actually, the first week my ears were slightly sore where the rubber band rests. I was considering whether to return them or not. Eventually I waited, and after about a week or so I somehow adapted and now I don't know about them in my ear at all. I must highlight especially the rather unique concept of the headphones. Actually, not so much because of the sound throughput, but because you don't "clog" your ear, and thanks to that it's not a problem to have the headphones practically all day long without any rashes and sweaty ear. The ear venting is perfect even when you sweat. Which is a very nice change. The second thing about the open and passable concept is that it does not block communication with the environment. So they are perfect to use at work when you need to talk to others at the same time. So from my point of view, it's an extension of their usability. Of course, there are also disadvantages to the open design. They cannot be used for noisy work (grass cutting,. ) - you just won't hear anything. Likewise, when running around the city into sometimes makes problems. This could be solved here with a higher available volume. In practice, when running around town, I have the volume set to maximum and it's just right. The problem is when you are on a noisy road where there is heavy truck traffic, or under a bridge with traffic - again, you won't hear anything from the headphones. But in normal traffic or out of it, of course, it's perfectly OK. The last thing that bothers me probably the most is the poor battery life at maximum volume. Volume has a big impact on battery life. And for example, when running at maximum volume, the headphones simply run out of power in 2 hours, which is sometimes not enough. The previous Sport7s lasted longer (even though the manufacturer's claimed time is much lower than these Sony ones). Overall I'm actually happier with the headphones than the previous ones, in fact I use them for more activities than the previous ones. But they also have their drawbacks to consider.
Unique concept
Can be in your ears virtually all day without fatigue and ear sweating
It can be used normally at work (in the office, workshop,. ), does not block communication
Low battery life
Lower maximum volume than would be ideal

Amazing to hear open back especially walking through nature.
Very comfortable for hours.
No ear wax buildup because they rest just outside of ears.
Good for acoustic, podcasts, binaural, ASMR, daytime/rainy weather music.
Great mic quality for calls
Goes out of sync or cuts out very VERY often.
You really can't hear any music if you are near traffic.
Not comfortable enough for sleeping ear down on a pillow.
Bad for most electronic music.

The headphones are the bomb. They work exactly as you need. You can hear the surroundings and stop the music while talking.
You must know what you are buying. If you want peace and maximum bass while listening, this is not for you.

Imho ideal for home use, for watching a movie on a tablet when you don' t want to disturb others, in the office when you want to listen to music but also hear others or for walks/sports in a quiet environment. Unfortunately, it is unusable anywhere where the noise is comparable to an average Russian street. The control is also a problem: the headphones recognize a total of four gestures (double and triple “click“ on the left and right headphones), unfortunately the control settings do not allow them to be simultaneously assigned to the volume control, play/pause and activation of the assistant. This would not be a major problem if the activation of the assistant worked reliably (then the volume could be controlled through it), unfortunately it does not work reliably.
Very light and comfortable
Controllable by touch around the ear, not just directly on the headphones
The low maximum volume, together with the (intentional) absence of ambient noise isolation means that they are unusable even on an average Russian street
Gesture controls are configurable, but you can' t set volume control, play/pause and assistant activation to be available at the same time
Assistant activation does not work reliably

The name of the Sony LinkBuds hearing aids is derived from the connection (link) of the online and offline worlds of the user and in this respect it should be noted that they have fully achieved expectations. They are the first 'open-back' in-ear headphones on the market and when worn they really give the impression of blending the real world with the digital one. Ambient sounds are almost completely let inward thanks to the unique open design, blending in with any audio currently playing into the headphones and sounding almost as if it were playing outdoors around the person. With LinkBuds it is important to experiment with the included ear buds, finding the right combination then reflects not only on how the hearing aids will sit comfortably, but for example also on the volume of the sound provided (since then they will probably be closer to the ear canal). With the right fitting, they "blend in" and one practically forgets about them. Provided they are properly fitted, hearing aids can "beat" most external sensations at full volume, although of course very loud sounds will still be heard. At about half volume, they allow you to listen to music and at the same time have a conversation with another person in the room - so you can listen to your favourite songs without complete isolation from the surroundings. If necessary, there is also a "Speak to pause" function that can detect when the user starts talking, which can then pause the currently playing media for a certain (adjustable) time, and then restart when the dialogue is over. The extensive touch control also deserves praise, as it allows touch gestures to be used directly on the shape, between the cheekbone and the ear, which eliminates the need to grab the hearing aid itself, to hear loud tapping on the packaging or the chance of inadvertently moving it. The sound quality captured from the microphones is also excellent, and it does a surprisingly good job of filtering out ambient noise during recording. The advantage is the open design, which allows a person to feel his own voice when speaking naturally without the muffled, "thickened" feeling of other, isolating hearing aids. This aspect also gives the impression that the online conversation is taking place directly in the room in which the person is located. So in conclusion, it is appropriate to ask the question, who are these hearing aids made for? First of all, they are for someone who needs to perceive reality and be aware of surrounding sounds when using them (running/biking in the city, working in a shop, office. ). They are also for someone whose ears tend to hurt from conventional hearing aid designs, especially when worn for long periods of time. Last but not least, they are for someone who generally likes the sound of 'open-back' hearing aids and appreciates pure midrange and treble. In no case are they suitable for someone who needs isolation from surrounding sounds, or active noise cancellation (ANC), which is the exact opposite of the focus of these hearing aids. They are also not for someone who would expect dynamic reproduction of deep bass, which these hearing aids are not capable of for physical reasons (open design).
