After taking a while to choose a pair of open-back headphones, the Sony MDR-MV1 have been a very pleasant surprise. Compared to many other open-back models, they offer surprisingly high-quality bass that has plenty of volume and control. The sound is on the warmer side and pleasant to listen to, but at the same time, it doesn't lack detail in the highs, which aren't muffled like on some Sennheiser models.
For open-back headphones, the bass is surprisingly very good and full.
A pleasantly warmer sound character, but without suppressed highs.
Very comfortable and lightweight design, even for longer listening sessions.
The soundstage isn't as wide as on the Beyerdynamic DT880 or DT990.
