The Sony's did not disappoint, traditionally excellent sound, a bit of a spectrum shift to lower frequencies compared to the MDR CD480's which are top of the line and which I have owned for over fifteen years. Quality construction, good fit, do not hurt ears even after a few hours, which is not common e.g. at Audio Technica.
Nothing major, just a minor issue with the loose cable to the earcups.

I've had one for 16 years now and apart from replacing the earpieces (3 times) they have served. Nothing broke, the cable is holding. and I'm dragging them into difficult shooting conditions.
The new models have a twisted cable made of a material that pulls out over time. the chrysalis stops coming back.
