The breathalyser was faulty, it repeatedly showed a reading of 0.0‰ even after consuming a large amount of alcohol (2 glasses of wine, 2 spirits) while following the correct procedure and measurement distance. The sensor does not react to alcohol on the breath.
Even with the instructions, it wasn't clear whether I was using the active or passive mode.
I went to return it the very next day. Even with the help of the instructions, I couldn't get a reading other than 0.0 after drinking alcohol.
