TiO2, or E171 - has been banned in the EU as a food additive due to suspicions of potential cancer promotion (coating of gingerbread, chewing gum, etc. ), while in cosmetics (Titanium Dioxide) it is allowed for the time being - use for people with intact/healthy skin, e.g. in creams with high UV factor etc. 2. ) According to scientific research, inhaling titanium nanoparticles damages the lungs. 3. ) A microwave is used to melt the soap base and there are no instructions for melting it any other way.
