I had bought a different set and I couldn't get the wick through the rubber. I bought this one, and it was a bit of a struggle too, but it worked. I can only recommend it, the awl didn't move. The adhesive in the kit seems to also serve as a lubricant and doesn't etch in such an aggressive way as the kit I failed with.
It works
