I'm an amateur. I do my own ironing. I have no idea what is customary and desirable in the industry. Sometimes I wasn't happy with the sleeve or leg. Mommy did without it.

I would expect the iron to slide on the surface, but it scrubs (like you'd want to clean a coffee mug with sandpaper)
