Even though it doesn't look like it in the picture, it really is a very sturdy and high quality scratching post. Assembly took only a few minutes. The large base 50x50 cm guarantees its stability. I have a cat and a cat and they just always knock over most of the other big scratchers, they haven't managed it here yet. The bed on the top of the scratching post is big, so even an 8 kg cat can roll around there and is very excited. One drawback is that they both want to go there. If I had any idea how excited they'd be about this scratcher, I'd buy them another one just like it. But I'd be living in the hallway in no time. The price doesn't match its quality, it should be worth a lot more for the money. I also bought much more expensive scratchers but they turned out to be of poor quality and after a while they fell apart. This scratching post is absolutely great and a great value for the money. (I'll still buy them the other one anyway): )
