Just fill it up, turn it on and don't worry about what more you want. When I buy another rice cooker I will look for a bigger one, we usually get about 3 servings out of it, which is not enough for 2 people for 2 days. The only problem arose when the faston on the rocker switch slid out a little and the appliance then threw the protector, but nothing that a minor repair wouldn't fix.
