If you listen, yeah you can hear a rattling noise when seeking (=seek is searching or copying a large number of files), but it's pretty light and quiet, no more so than in the average modern any other hdd. If you want something you don't even know about, don't buy a hdd, buy a ssd, this is about being realistic and not completely spoiled.
