So far (after a week), it’s living up to expectations and doing what it’s supposed to. Only time will tell whether it will last (its 2016 predecessor was phased out after nine years). I wanted a hard drive the same size as the previous one, and I wanted the same speed as well. If it proves to be any good, I’ll buy another one just like it in due course.
I have had good experiences with IronWolf discs so far. A mechanical drive is not about speed, it should be about reliability. It is better to pay extra for a better quality design.
