We use it daily in the kitchen to wipe down the wooden counters. It has excellent suction, does not create dust like normal wipes and wipes crumbs off surfaces well. I can't imagine it as a duster, because it doesn't take much, and you'd probably be scared to death. As far as the softness is concerned, within about a month it has hardened like a hard pastry and has to be soaked very thoroughly before it can be pressed. I think the biggest downside is that the foam mixture does not contain any disinfectants, so even wrung out, lying on a well-ventilated surface, it became moldy.
