I was hoping it would be a replacement for the non-existent TKL Magic Keyboard in the dark version, but unfortunately not. I had two of them; on the first one, the Tab key stopped working after just one day’s use; on the second, the Enter key was playing up; I can’t be bothered to try the third one. The scissor-switch mechanism of the keys is just cheap plastic, which, as I later saw from reviews abroad, doesn’t last very long. They may vary from one to another, but they’re just rebranded Chinese versions – a bit of a polished-up bit of rubbish, really. At first glance, the build quality looks good; the aluminium base is solid and the typing experience is pleasant, but all it takes is one faulty key and the scissor mechanism is beyond repair. The impression of quality is also let down by the on/off switch, which is sharp-edged and wobbles. Unlike the MX Keys Mini, it really does have the same keys as a MacBook – no recessed keys – and the same layout too; for example, the monitor brightness keys. Whilst these can be programmed on the Logitech model, here everything is set up the same way straight out of the box. If you’re a bit more discerning and want a dark TKL Magic Keyboard, you’ll probably have no choice but to settle for the original white one. Alternatively, try this one and see if you can find a section where all the keys are working properly. Otherwise, there’s the MX Keys Mini, but that one has a slightly different layout and key design.
All in all, I cannot recommend it.
