It does what it's supposed to, but it's hard to tuck into the USB because the switch doesn't stay in the selected position and slides back in, which is very awkward.
I didn't measure it, but it is fast enough, especially in writing, and it doesn't overheat. Small files like photos etc...take longer to write than a large file, which is natural.
