assembled crane and loader are fully functional, 3-year-old grandson plays with them beautifully
the way the crane "rope" is routed is great
we purchased for the younger age group with the understanding that the toy would be assembled by an adult
some parts are scrubbing during assembly and it takes brute force

I bought the ROTO system kit 25 years ago for my children when they were about 4 years old, it worked very well for me and so I bought the whole ROTO range for my now grandson.
Compared to previous versions, in these kits it would be useful to add "square fillers" to make the kit more variable.
