It is a cheap device for digitizing negatives. If you prefer quantity over quality and have a lot of slides or negatives taken with a poor quality compact camera sometime in the last century, the device will not limit you in quality or resolution. I wouldn't buy this for photos taken with an SLR or a high quality camera, you'll be disappointed. Just like if you only have a few films and you care about getting the best results, it's better to have them digitized professionally. The device does not have any dust/scratch reduction like better scanners have, so I recommend buying air spray and blowing each negative thoroughly. But you will still have to retouch the dust manually for many photos.

Negatives need to be cut into strips, a problem with long winded films. I've scanned the rolls through a slide frame, it's just probably unfriendly to the film
