surprisingly there is a slight smell of plastic even though the interior is stainless steel. I don' t know what it is, maybe the rubber seal of the lid, or the outer plastic,.?
The kettle really doesn't overheat due to the double packaging.
I didn't find any indication of the minimum water for boiling inside the kettle, only the maximum. Overall, a gauge inside would be useful, showing the water content. Even after boiling the kettle with water again, it still has its smell.
