I needed to film interviews on an amateur camera. I had a cheap Philips microphone, it picked up all kinds of noise. Now I'm doing it with two RODE "knockers", connected to smartphones. When editing, I separate the audio from the image, throw in the mobile audio and sync. The knockers don't pick up as much noise and the sound is more natural.
To connect to a camera or other non-mobile device I need a reducer for about 350 more.
