It takes a bit of practice (I used a curling iron for the first time), but it's pretty quick to learn and the waves are very beautiful and last a long time (they're still very nice until the next day).
I've used it without a glove and gotten away without getting burned.
It seems to me that this type of curling iron is not suitable for more long hair (e.g. to the waist) - I had to wind the longer strands in 2x sections, but maybe I haven't learned that much with it yet. Despite this, I would still recommend it.
