That a modern PC can't recognize 10k boxes is a bad joke. Internet forums are full of people with the same problem, some of them get it working for a while after a complaint, but then it stops recognizing again. Avoid this equipment with a wide berth!
The system often fails to recognize. power on, power off, restart, disconnect, connect. you'll be dancing like this for half an hour. There is no guaranteed method or procedure.
