I purchased the turntable after much research into the options at this price level. The wooden design matched the rest of my hi-fi setup. Unfortunately, the cons outweighed the pros and I eventually returned the turntable. The biggest obstacle turned out to be the lack of an anti-skate setting, which causes the transmission to skip part of the first track when the arm is triggered. In addition, without setting the correct pressure, the transmission will gradually damage the left channel of the vinyl, so prolonged use of this turntable will inevitably damage your records. The Pro-Ject models just probably only make sense from the really high end, but even there I'd be cautious. It is more of a design machine to look at than a machine for daily use.
