at first I thought the socket was too narrow. Then I found out that there is a plastic part that can be removed 🙈

Incorrect description, it has an insert/adaptor that prevents some types of plugs from being connected. According to reviews, people are returning it for this reason alone.
it did the job in the end
Includes an adapter that wasn't mentioned anywhere.

Narrow profile cable that I needed
when you find out that there is a given insert that you can take out and then you can fit all the narrow profile tips in there, that's a relief
eventually you can use the insert (and that's probably what it's for) as a fuse for thin cables to keep them from falling out of the socket. But if you put an AC adapter in there, it's useless and confuses you unnecessarily
I don't understand at all why the manufacturer puts an insert in that socket, so that it confuses all the people (including me) to the point that they consider returning the product.
The pull-out insert to secure the cable could just be put in the packaging by the manufacturer and it would certainly save a lot on claims
