If you travel a lot it's probably the only reasonable choice, the rest of the competition has travel cases very clunky or extra adapter which I really refuse to carry, the case is very nice and the ability to connect it to USB-C is very nice. The stand is also very nice, but I would have expected the possibility of at least lightly fixing the charging part in the stand, as it just lies on top of each other and tilts out. As for the data, I was expecting a bit more detailed record, it's actually only about whether you brush your teeth evenly on each surface, you don't learn anything more, which is fine, but after the xth cleaning when you know how to do it, it stops being interesting, and we don't have to talk about the fact that the record of the movement is also not very accurate, sometimes it just doesn't record it properly even though I'm convinced that I washed that part of my mouth perfectly fine. Otherwise, the settings only through the app which I consider an advantage, but everyone must evaluate it for themselves. What I consider a disadvantage are the touch buttons, they do not work perfectly, they are probably very sensitive to the cleanliness of the touch surface, sometimes I turn it on until the fifth time, this is not very successful for me, here I would welcome if I could run the cleaning from the application. I wouldn't buy it for 8299, but if you catch a discount and can buy it for close to the lower model I guess it's cool. Otherwise, I don't see any extra added value except for the travel case, next time I would probably choose something more affordable and "dumber" because this toothbrush is not very smart from my point of view either.

tl; Dr: Do you have experience with another Philips Sonicare and do you know that the teeth should be cleaned twice a day for 2 minutes? Then I think Prestige is a waste of money. Any lower line Sonicare will do. However, if you now have a manual brush, enjoy technology and don' t worry too much about money, then Prestige will be a good choice. I think you might enjoy it. They will teach you and force you. After 5 years, my Philips Sonicare DiamondClean has reached its peak. I knew I didn' t want a Philips brush (recommended by 9 out of 10 dentists, true story). After a few days of hesitation (because I didn' t find a review like this one), I finally bought the top Prestige board. And it was completely unnecessary. It all revolves around the app. I' m a developer myself and I enjoy this, but the application does not bring any benefit. On the contrary, I think that in the long term it will be a flurry.
1. I offer instructions that I asked once and I did not learn anything new. (After the DiamondClean experience, where these instructions were and are available on the Philips website. ) 2. Real-time tracking of the card position was fun for me only at first. I didn' t enjoy it the second time, because I didn' t learn anything interesting there. (If you already know how to brush your teeth. After all, it' s not a science after all.: )) 3. I was interested in data analytics, so after 3 weeks I reconnected the cards and the application to see what I would learn about my cleaning. Well, I found out that the card only remembers the dates of the last 10 days, so I throw away the rest and I see a hole in the calendar. The app thinks I haven' t brushed my teeth in days. I did not learn anything interesting from the saved data. Frequency (2x a day) and average time spent cleaning (2 minutes; if the regime has 2 minutes, then it' s probably useless to measure it, right? ). Then he applied pressure and a quick movement (only if it' s good - which the cardist told me straight away, so it' s not good for me to lead it back, I know it can' t be done). In short, data is very simple. (Again, it' s not a complete science after all, and it' s probably impossible to find out about it.: )) 4. The cleaning mode can only be changed via the application. Otherwise, no. But in the end it won' t be such a problem for me, after DiamondClean I found out that I still only use Clean for 2 minutes. I don' t have dental problems (unfortunately). If someone has, I can' t say if the application will help them. For me, almost a month' s experience with Prestige is a direct confirmation that we don' t need smart applications and data science for everything. Investing in Prestige (under my conditions) for the application was pointless if it was for the design - I don' t see how it' s pretty, though. it' s always just a card.: )) And DiamondClean looks great too.

Many settings are only available from the app on the mobile phone, without it we have a toothbrush with one factory mode.
The app requires registration and consent to share data - there is a "no, thank you" button next to the consent, but we can't go any further than that.
High application consumption. To transfer data, the app must be running while cleaning (phone with you in the bathroom), app rating on Google Play 2 stars.
"Vegan leather" on a travel case is just a "progressive" name for leather - a nightmare from the days of socialism. They haven't found worse material?
