It’s actually quite quick – I’m surprised. Someone wrote that the connection takes a long time. It doesn't take long; I'm connected within a few seconds. What’s worse is the product’s ‘orientation’, as it is positioned vertically when viewed from the USB port. The Škoda Octavia III won’t connect it, as there isn’t enough room. The USB port in the car is ‘hidden’ beneath the radio, with the ‘top’ of the storage compartment directly above it. So I had to buy the shortest USB extension cable I could find and do it like this. It cannot be connected directly to the car for this reason. There is a delay of about a second when switching between tracks; I haven’t tried making a call yet.

For wireless CarPlay, I used the CarLinkit module for two years; it took a long time to connect (sometimes as long as a minute), and it often simply refused to connect to my phone, so I had to unplug it from the USB port and plug it back in. It often happened that the connection to the phone would stall or freeze completely. So I tried replacing it with this much smaller and cheaper module from Ottocast, and I’ve been incredibly pleasantly surprised. There is virtually no audio delay when making calls. I recommend updating the module’s software to fix any bugs.
