It's all-plastic, so mechanically you can't expect miracles, but the discs fit tightly (sometimes it's a bit of a challenge to remove them without using a bit of force, where you worry about the connectors) and when closed it holds, the transfers are snappy.: -)

I wanted to replace the i-tec MySafe Advance AluBasic 2.5" USB 3.0 drive so I could "hot-swap" drives.
This is very easy to do with this system, unfortunately the disk speed is half that of the old box. I use HDDs from laptops left over from upgrades to have external drives for movies at the cottage. What speed it can handle with SSD I am not able to say.
