After an unfortunate purchase of a Pocketbook Era Colour, where the device arrived with a screen defect from the factory and concerns that another unit might have the same issue, I was looking for an alternative to Pocketbook's open system, and this reader was the clear and practically only possible choice. It's an excellent device with great build quality, incredible speed compared to the competition, superior features, and an unparalleled open system. I definitely recommend it.
The speed of everything compared to the competition is incredible
Doesn't flicker when it doesn't need to
After customising the settings, it's an absolutely perfect reader.
Freedom and the option to customise absolutely everything to your needs
No dead pixels, the display is in perfect condition and everything looks great.
Memory card slot
Excellent build quality, ergonomics and physical buttons
Compared to the competition that doesn't run on Android, the battery lasts about a week, not several weeks, but the pluses make up for it and a week is sufficient.

the possibility to have entire sentences translated in e-books using Bing, Google or ONYX online translators - great for learning foreign languages
no water resistance (only some water repellency), so concern about the device when reading in the bath or out by the water

I bought the reader because it is one of the few that has the Android operating system, which is needed for borrowing e-books from libraries. It serves that purpose well, but where this product is a severe disappointment is the display and backlight. The color e-ink display on this one is significantly inferior to the black and white display on a much older reader of the same brand. The text of the e-books is made up of a visible raster, the backlighting is very uneven, and ghosts from the previous view remain on the new page when turning pages. I would expect a higher quality display for a reader in this price range.
The reader has Android so you can install your apps. We bought it because of the ability to borrow e-books from libraries through the Palmbooks app.
The design of the reader is nice and the reader feels good in the hand.
The Android operating system is quite fast, not as fast as on a mobile, but still perfectly usable.
The colour e-ink display is incomparably inferior to the black and white display. It's like going back 15 years to the first readers. While it's nice to see book covers in color, even black text is made up of visible raster and it's very unpleasant to read.
The reader has backlighting in the lower right and upper right corners and it's noticeably visible. The backlit corners shine more brightly and the more distant areas are darker. Overall, the display looks spotty.
The display does not blur easily and ghosts from previous views remain on the page.

A great reader that is not actually a reader but a full-fledged Android device. This implies the possibility of installing additional applications - personally I wanted to have all the books but also personal notes and documents in one place, and the possibility of installing the Obsidian application that I use on my PC and phone and its synchronization were for me a clear choice in addition to the qualities of the reader itself. Perhaps only the battery life could be a little better - I would have been happy with a slightly thicker device if, for example, the battery capacity had been doubled.
Versatility - many formats, Android apps, etc.
Good price/performance ratio
Can be effectively used for notes - after purchasing a stylus
Huge space for books, plus more on the microSD card
Slightly weaker display contrast - compared to black and white versions
Significantly weaker battery life, compared to black and white Kindle readers

Easy to hold, lovely material, very lightweight
Nice colors (washed out, but this is an e-ink)
Good battery overall
Not really a negative, but something to keep in mind: you need to look for some info on how to setup your screen (per app)

The reader is nice, unfortunately it doesn't come with a Czech manual, I had to ask for one to be sent to me. It was more challenging to set it up the first time, because it was one big unknown for me, how to actually use it, and therefore set it up. Instructions in English were sent to me upon request.
