As for the body fat measurement, it was showing me a completely nonsensical figure, apparently just calculated by weight, height etc, because it matched from a completely different app where you enter that data and it shows the likely data.
I compared it with the Profi device purely for measuring fat in the gym with a trainer and it showed about 6% less.
So unusable and I returned it.

Weigh consistently not only weight but also other parameters such as % fat or muscle.
Perfect for tracking %fat. Maybe it doesn't show an exact number to us atypical people but it measures consistently so you can see if fat is going up or down and you can adjust your training/diet accordingly.
This is my 4th scale and only this one measures consistently. On the others (including one that was in the same price range) the fat and muscle value jumps +- 1% which has zero predictive value. This scale shows a variation of about +- 0.1%.
Omron connect can be easily paired with Samsung Health or Google Fit where it sends all data. Samsung health and Google Fit can be further paired with, for example, Calorie Tables or MyFitnessPal. Where do you keep your diary. A huge help
It just works. This is the third smart scale. They stopped working. Especially if they rely on the cloud which as the product ages the manufacturer stops paying/supporting and the scale remains non-functional (hello iHealth).
Data is downloaded via Bluetooth directly to the mobile phone. The advantage over WiFi is that it just works. The other ones that went over Wifi still had some problems and I spent a lot of time troubleshooting. And I have an enterprise grade WiFi solution at home.
It stores data (also) locally and so it will work even if I "turn off the internet" one day; -)

Too complicated for just checking weight. I bought this hoping for a reliable and accurate smart scale, but it’s far too complicated for daily use. You can’t just step on to check your weight — it forces you to enter height, age, gender every single time, even in Guest mode. And if the body composition sensors fail to read (which happened often), it shows “Err 1” and gives you no weight at all. Very frustrating. Good for serious tracking maybe, but terrible if you just want something quick and simple.
Problems with data transfers to the phone. But maybe it's some BT settings on your phone. It always works out in the end.
