Necessity if your desktop or laptop has DP or vga, but not hdmi and you have Intel graphics. While on nvidia cards I can transfer full hd image in full quality via the same VGA cable to the same monitor, from intel graphics the image is blurry (visible on blurred fonts). As I did not suspect that the problem would be in the cable, as the one before with the same monitor on full hd worked without problems, I spent a long time with different settings of the monitor, controls, smoothing. until I tried this cable and the picture is like wine.
