I bought a Ford S-Max with integrated hagus and unfortunately had to return it. Installation is easy, but the thick rubber padding feels really rubbery and not very firm. In addition, the foot is plastic, extended by one screw, again it does not seem very sturdy.
In addition, the crossbars do not fit perfectly on the hagus, so there was a small gap on the upper part after maximum tightening, which apparently caused a lot of noise - already from 30 km/h you could hear a whistle, like when you play a flute, above 80 km/h there was a lot of aerodynamic noise - but anyway, you must not drive faster with the load according to the instructions. This was the final argument for me to return it, because such a limitation makes traveling a longer distance (when you need a box on the roof) practically unthinkable. Missing instructions (or instructions for a different model of crossbars) and that the T-groove side cover on one side simply did not hold in place are just minor details.
They look nice (from afar)
Big noise
Speed with load only 80km/h!
The rubberized grip does not inspire much confidence
Rubbers on the outside and inside of the feet ensure a firm connection to the hagus and protect the paint on the roof of the car against possible scratches
the crossbar can be easily moved to increase the symmetry after easy fitting to the hagus
assembly requires tools - Allen key included
the lock caps must be removed, put away and put back on after assembly
the rubber on the feet that sit on the outside of the hagus does not hold in the feet housing - it has to be held and straightened when putting it on
Total disappointment. The product looks good at first glance, but the practical design is already lacking. Right out of the box, you will be surprised by the included instructions for other crossbars. Never mind, the correct instructions can be downloaded from the internet. Opening the side bar cap for access to the T-slot is a bit complicated - in the instructions and video on the internet it is supposed to be opened by simply pressing a button (supposedly "patented system"), but there is no such thing (there is only a solid hard black bar where it should be, you can't get it wet). The black bar is about 1 cm shorter than it should be, so you can push it off a little bit by force and squeeze the plug. The next problem was when installing on the roof, even with strong tightening the crossbar is not completely stable and it does not inspire much confidence (but maybe it is due to the design of the stringers on the car and there is no better way. ). The rubber washers on the feet are not precise, so they come off differently when tightened. Eventually, it was discovered that the roof box (older Thule) would not attach well to it because the box clamps are not compatible with this stretched bar section and one clamp always remains loose. I'm coming back.
Low profile, easy assembly and disassembly, looks nice, high load capacity, T-slot, Allen wrench included. Three keys to the locks
Nothing
