Our kids don't know Fortnite (thank goodness), but yet Santa gave them these Nerf guns. They're fun. A bit difficult to learn at first: the bullet can jam (there's a top opening window to pull it out), you have to press and hold the bottom button for the trigger to work, and it's all kind of noisy - so the opponent knows moments in advance when you're about to fire.
The cartridges are, compared to the normal NERF foam cartridges, intentionally a bit different, and with the rifle you only have 6 of them (just enough for one magazine) - so you have to buy more right away. That's a bit of an understatement.
Despite all this, these toys are fun to play with! You can shoot dice towers with your kids, change magazines, explain the basics of safe handling of real guns, tell stories about how a bullet can jam in a real rifle. and when they're not looking, adults can shoot it: -)
I recommend to buy a pack of bullets. Easy to lose!
