After using about 10 gaming laptops over the last five years for work because of their excellent value for money, this is finally a device that’s caught my eye. The price is still quite high, but the premium you pay for the quality, smaller size and lighter weight isn’t as steep as with other ‘mid-range business laptops’. The B390 iGPU is simply brilliant for 2D graphics, and in time perhaps even some AI operations, or even light gaming. Paradoxically, it feels snappier than the i9 14900HX, and not just after the i9 had ‘warmed up’, but right from the very first second. This is complemented by super-fast memory and an absolutely superb display, which offers 100% P3 colour gamut coverage (probably the maximum anyone could realistically want or need). On the other hand, although the manufacturer boasts about the vapor chamber and I consider the 358X CPU to be a phenomenal achievement that puts Intel back in the limelight (I’d say it has no real competition when you consider the overall mix of specifications and the fact that ARM isn’t for everyone), I had expected slightly better battery life (I fear it wouldn’t last a full working day on battery power) and less sensitive fans. In reality, the CPU often exceeds 80 °C during normal use. I’d like to reduce the TDP slightly to minimise temperature fluctuations, but even with the default settings I was expecting better performance. However, it’s possible that things will settle down in a few weeks’ time. It is also true that even the "ECO" mode (via the MSI app) does not throttle performance to such an extent that it hinders use, whilst temperatures drop significantly.
excellent parameters
an absolutely brilliant OLED panel
perfect processing
one of the best keyboards I've ever used on a laptop
Factory-installed Windows 11 Pro
price – taking into account similarly equipped/finished competitors and the period May/June 2026 (CZK 48,000)
impressive features (modern Wi-Fi, Bluetooth – all top-of-the-range, despite the more reasonable price)
No adapter included – a good-quality one with a cable can cost thousands more.
A 1 TB hard drive is simply not enough
Fuel consumption and temperatures are currently below expectations
The design is actually a bit below expectations – the product photos raise higher expectations
A shorter warranty for businesses – a fail for a laptop aimed at this market (I would have expected 36 months, as for private individuals)
