I used the same box from AAWireless as my first wireless Android Auto adapter. In contrast, it had a detachable cable and an application in which you could download updates, change DPI and frequency. Unfortunately, she had a problem with random disconnections at specific points on the road. I lost my AAWireless when I bought a new car, so I got this box from Motorola, which is the only one that' s even certified by Google. I was hoping it wouldn' t have problems shutting down due to signal interference. Unfortunately, the MA1 has exactly the same problems and, in addition, worse characteristics in terms of cable, etc. The worst problem is that if you have a 5GHz or 2.4GHz signal on the road, the box disconnects and doesn' t work for a minute. Then it automatically connects again, but the destination entered in the navigation is canceled. All these boxes have this problem because they do not have sufficient shielding against external Wi-Fi signals. That' s why Reddit users recommend wrapping this box in several layers of aluminum foil. After this measure, the box no longer has any disconnection problems. I' ve tried it multiple times in all the places where it used to disconnect and it' s been working great ever since. Tested with Samsung S23 and Audi Q3 with MIB 2.5. If I had to buy another adapter, I would definitely choose the AAWireless with foil again. Since I already have this box, I will continue to use it. I' m glad I moved the USB ports to the box, otherwise I' d still see the MA1 wrapped in tinfoil. So if your box comes off when you' re on the go, try wrapping it in tin foil. It is not an aesthetic solution, but a functional one. In the end, I had to 3D print the bracket, which I taped with aluminum foil on the inside to make it look good and from an aesthetic point of view.

I am quite satisfied with it. I was worried when I read the reviews, but it turns out that it works quite reliably. I think it' s more of a phone problem. It' s quite demanding on it and it gets hot (at least my Pixel 6 does) so it happens to me that it disconnects. For example. it is not possible to charge wirelessly in the car with wifi android car at all (I don' t have a vented charger). So I either don' t charge at all or through the cable and let the air conditioning exhaust flow to the phone. It works reliably in this setup and I haven' t had it fall out during my 3 hour journeys. What annoys me the most is the short cable that is fixed there. I' m a little worried about its longevity.

Great, you just have to turn off battery optimization for android auto on your phone. If this is not done, it can be pretty annoying - the connection dropped several times even within 5 minutes. After turning off optimization, everything looks ok (Samsung).

on short routes (for example in Prague) I don't see outages

My motivation for buying the device was that I often forget to connect my phone to Android Auto with a cable. Then I get home, I want to open the garage via Google assistant and nothing, I don't have my phone connected. So I wanted something that would connect to the Android car automatically when I come to the car. I tried the device for one day. Great. The connection was right away and worked perfectly. No disconnecting. I haven't been on the highway with it, so I can't tell if it disconnects under the toll gates. The problem arose when I connected my wife's phone. Every time I got in the car, her phone would come on. Switching phones is hell. We have a Dacia Duster year of production 2021. The phone is connected via bluetooth to the Dacia Media Center (MediaNav) and via Wifi to the adapter. Although I have read on the internet that to switch between phones you just press a button on the Motorola adapter. That's only half the truth. You need to first disconnect the connected phone from the MediaNav, then connect the other phone to the MediaNav and press the buttons on the adapter. To make it not so simple, you can't disconnect a connected phone via Bluetooth through the menu in MediaNav, I guess it's keeping it's Android auto somehow. The option is disabled if no Android car is connected to the normally enablated. So I have to tell my wife to disconnect MediaNav from her phone, I have to connect to MediaNav. All by hand. Don't count on the phone you don't want to connect just turning off BT on the phone. If your phone is already connected to Android auto and you turn off BT on your phone, Android auto will turn it on right away. So to turn off BT on your phone you must first disconnect the phone from the Wifi it is connected to the adapter. If I were driving the car myself I'd keep it, but with the switching I'm sticking with the wire.
