Bought for the car because of the dog. We carry it in the station wagon in the back of the trunk, where the air conditioning or the car's fan doesn't blow much, even when you turn the salt up full and the rest of the crew sits in the draft.
The fan can be placed virtually anywhere, we put it on the handle above the rear door and pointed it into the trunk. The dog calmed down incredibly, put his head on the back of the rear seats and enjoyed the breeze.
The intensity can be selected with the dial continuously as required, no steps.
We still have to find out if we can plug it into a "normal" socket, for example via a mobile phone charger, and use it elsewhere than in the car.
