I've noticed limescale in my washing machine after half a year of purchase (buying the washing machine), so this isn't a huge amount to (even 1%) reduce limescale build up. Research, however, talks of a 3-7% reduction in settling at a magnetic field strength that could pull an entire washing machine or hold a multi-ton car in the air. Which this magnet doesn't have that power, so it's questionable whether it has any significance. Otherwise, it fits without any problems on the classic washing machine hose and the wall outlet.
