The app isn't working for me. I use without. It was used for two weeks straight at the beginning of breastfeeding, so at least every three hours. Good, reliable, doesn't hurt the nipples. Pumping is slower than breastfeeding and energy intensive. I've also had a philips which has nicer silicone adjusters, but the lowest pressure is so strong that my nipples blistered.
I bought Medela mainly because they had it in the maternity ward. For less frequent suctioning I would choose a manual pump after experience, but definitely a medela. I also have a solo, there I mind that it is necessary to hold it, but for less frequent withdrawals it is enough.
On the medela website I learned a lot about milk storage, breastfeeding and in general about the correct use of the breast pump and especially about changing the regime.
It does its job, but since we are forced to use it up to 8 times a day for the second week and I see the comparison with others, I would buy a version that has a pump on each tray and no tubing anywhere (e.g. Momcozy brand). The pump of this one is really quite noisy and vibrates, which I can hear in other brands if you put it on the table, so it is quite unpleasant. The tray is a little harder to see into due to the milky plastic, I shine a light on my phone to check the correct fit on the nipple. Lasts about 1.5 hours
