After a week of use, it is too early to make any serious quality assessment. So far it fulfills its function - it filters quite well, BUT. I would consider buying it for the second time.
Compared to the previous version, it is much simpler, putting on the hoop to seal the hinge was a huge problem. That took real brute force, no gentle tapping with a rubber mallet. I was afraid the hoop would hold up. If I hadn't watched the video of the assembly of the previous version, I probably wouldn't have assembled it from the attached crappy assembly guide. I don't understand why Marimex took such a step backwards. I'm really curious how many seasons it will last.
Marimex ProStar4 is our second filtration, if I don't count the previous "cartouches" which were more or less as decorations to the pools or adequate replacements for the fish in the aquarium. Due to the damage of the previous one, I will not mention the model, I will only mention the brand "bestway" where the water started to flow under the resin pack and it was necessary to replace, respectively. servicing the whole mechanism (a huge problem), I had to get something in a hurry, so the first criterion was the replaceability and availability of individual components, with Marimex everything is possible, for fans even the whole filtration can be assembled by parts. Another criterion, the price - there were no hoses in the package, we were left with the previous ones and thus the whole filtration is cheaper and the last criterion, reviews from real people, colleagues, neighbours, etc., where Marimex was the unequivocal KING! In addition, it is a Czech product (although the production is as everywhere made in china) and has a lot of picked flies, again I compare with the previous filtration. Very satisfied with the performance, 200W is 200W, yes the current consumption goes up, but let's face it, the pool is a seasonal appliance, the more intensively used which requires intensive filtering, respectively. performance and ProStar4 has that.

This is a product that Alza really shouldn’t be selling – essentially, you can’t attach the lid to the base using the ring. I refuse to use a hammer on something new.
