I picked up the old 502 and compared it to the new 502X and I get the impression that the new one is missing something (besides usable software) I don' t know exactly what.
Two stars down just for the software, I would take half a star off for the sensor, but that would be a huge injustice to the mouse.

Logitech gaming software is not supported, you have to use that hideous logitech HUB
you can no longer add weights to the mouse as with previous models
The HERO sensor still has the same surface issues as it used to
