The rubber gasket is on the door, not the opening, so you don't have to vacuum up the lint first to avoid getting lint on your clean clothes when you take them out (as with previous models, or models from other brands.
Without the use of the connection kit, when placed on the washing machine, the not very good-looking ribbing of the plastic bottom between the legs is visible. When using the connection set, the spacer does not stick to both appliances. The spacer fits better to the square bottom of the dryer, but it looks odd to the receding rounded control panel. Since this is only an aesthetic issue, it is irrelevant. The connection to the LG ThinQ app worked after the first drying.
