The laptop is more than adequate for office work using programmes on EA App, Ubisoft Connect or WG G-Center. And as for those other programmes – like CAD, Office and FINE – they don’t even break a sweat. It cools perfectly and looks great. The only thing I have to admit, based on the reviews I’ve read, is that the surface gets smudged quite easily just by touching it, so when I take it out of my bag, I look like a bit of a mess – and I certainly don’t carry a damp cloth around with me. The Power button light is very bright; I haven’t yet checked whether it can be switched off. After that, it’s all down to the software. I bought it because I was switching to the new version of Windows, and I have to say it’s rubbish. Windows XP Gold or Windows 7, which could be customised by the user as required. As far as the layout is concerned, the best way I could describe W11 is that it’s a mess. But I’m too old to learn Linux from scratch now, even though I did make an effort back in the day when Ubuntu was first taking off. For the average person, this laptop is perfectly adequate. Laptops costing 150,000 Kč with 10 per cent better performance, which lose 30 per cent of their value the moment they’re switched on for the first time and, after the first year, reach the price level of this one (which cost 48,000 Kč at the time of purchase) are completely beyond the bounds of a sane person’s common sense. I realise that some people work on programmes that require higher performance, or that there are those who are rolling in money and wipe their bums with banknotes, but for the average person, this is more than enough. I would, however, point out one drawback regarding the speakers. The sound is awful. However, I’ve always got round this by using a Bluetooth speaker or a good pair of 5.1 headphones, so it certainly doesn’t put me off in the slightest and it’s not something that would stop me from buying a laptop. If someone buys a laptop just to turn its speakers into a home cinema, they’re probably a bit mad: -)
