The fans are audible even when the laptop is not under load. I also wanted to use the laptop for normal work because of its display, but I could not get the fans to run even with the most economical settings and silent mode, even when I turned off the dedicated nVidia card.

If it could be quiet during normal work and hum when in gaming mode, it would be the perfect laptop for both work and gaming, (Lenovo challenge)
