The 3in1 building blocks are quite popular with us. You can create 3 different characters from one box. When we go somewhere, just take one box of legos and you're kept entertained a little longer than if you just build one classic lego. She tears down one figure and builds another. At least then there aren't so many cubes to clean up: ) I have a 5 year old girl, although lego is meant for older ages. She can build it herself just fine, but that's more for each individual to evaluate based on their child's abilities. But it's generally ideal for travel when you don't want to lug around 10 boxes of Legos. We have three little 3in1 kits and they really have fun with it for a long time, I recommend it! Price-wise, it's a bargain
