I definitely recommend to buy it (even two packs - one of tracks and one of switches). In the basic set (train) there are several pieces of track, but you can only build a small oval. and that's pretty boring.

the connected tracks hold well, wiring is easy
there could be more straight tracks in the pack (compared to curves) but this is a subjective feeling
It is a pity that it is not possible to order various supports, bridges, etc. (these only exist as Chinese copies)
on uneven ground (e.g. high carpet) the rails can become disconnected
besides short curves, the package could also include parts to overcome small height irregularities (max 1-2 cm), so it is necessary to bend the straight parts of the rails unnaturally
