I think the renderer is smarter than I am. The first time I set it up, the hob refused to turn on underneath. She didn't do it with the other dishes, and she didn't do it next door with the neighbors. He came with a lid, but somehow they don't "fit" together. When welding the milk, it made a brown scratch at the bottom, but it was easy to remove the whole thing. The next time the pan is used, the cooker will signal EO several times and then switch on to the desired settings. I'm not going to return it, hopefully we can work it out together to both our satisfaction.
