I would have expected much more from wireless headphones tuned by Harman.
The sound is very bad. It completely lacks bass while the second largest inscription on the box is DEEP BASS. The mids are very distorted and carry over into the highs. It reminds me of the whole effect we know from soundtracks like,,,,,,,. It's as if someone had run the sound through a thin pipe. The heights are sometimes uncomfortable. The drums sometimes sound like mere cymbals to the point of rattling.
Headphones in difficult situations have a resonating effect. I thought that I would adjust everything in the equalizer, as I have e.g. modified JBL flip 6 but these headphones are not supported by the JBL headphones app. So nothing can be set, and that goes for updates as well. It helped a little to set up Dolby Atmos on the phone, which brought a larger sound range. Unfortunately, on both sides. The treble level is at times almost paralyzing but it brought at least minimal bass to the headphones.
When I compare the peck headphones from the Xperia mini from 2011, which were still included in the package or even older phones at the time, I feel that the JBL vibe is downright garbage. I understand that headphones are wireless and a little bit of consideration should be given to that. But even the cheapest SONY for 159 kc sound 5 times better. The closest sound to the headphones I found 20 years ago in a pack of Martians that came with a watch and calculator.
I'm sorry, but this is downright desecration of music. Harman should be ashamed of themselves. Or at least not put your logo 10 times on the box.
As far as comfort is concerned, for the first hour the headphones hold up and are tolerable to comfortable. But after about 2h the bottom of the ear is already quite sore and the headphones start to slip out due to the very hard plastic. I almost always stopped using the headphones even sooner than I would have liked, and that was only because of the annoying ear pain.
The playback time is definitely not 32h as the seller declares. I liked the blue color better but the black color should last 6h more. I don't know how that's possible but that's why I chose black. After a full charge with headphones and subsequent use I got to 22h+, then only one headphone was playing. the volume was between 60-70% and the phone from which the sound was played was always in my pocket or on the table in front of me. And it has Bluetooth 5.1. I would add that they didn't play all the time. I also used it briefly to watch videos and make phone calls, which accounted for about 15% of the time.
Controlling the headphones is quite uncomfortable. All accompanied by about 1.5s-2s response time. So sometimes I awkwardly press pause/play 6 times because I think I've squeezed myself. Sometimes the music pauses itself or google assistant comes on when I want to straighten the headphones so they don't fall out of my ears. Oh, yeah. The response is also for video playback. For VLC player about 0.6-0.8s, Youtube about 0.5s. I don't understand how people can use this. I have never experienced this problem with wireless headphones before. Presumably these handsets do not support modern phones with Qualcomm processors.
But the headphones have their positives, of course. IPX2 is great. Each handset can be connected separately. The box is quite compact, 43g. When opened, there is a subtle inscription JBL Vibe 300 and the initials of the company HARMAN. The headphones are easy to insert and from a distance of 2cm the magnet attracts them nicely. This solution is fine but I am not sure if this extremely strong magnet does not affect the inverters themselves. Maybe that would explain everything.
There is an L and R mark on the headphones and the box, so there is no mistaking it. The lid of the box holds nicely and the overall shape of the box is very pleasing. I don't even know it's in my pocket.
In conclusion, if you like music, you'd better avoid these headphones. Maybe even Harman/JBL in general. I feel like since Samsung bought them they've been trying to sink the whole thing.
But for making phone calls, probably sufficient although the other side has always confirmed to me that from the phone itself it is significantly better and cleaner. Unfortunately, the headphones also fall out of the ears over time when speaking.
I will most likely be advertising the headphones due to low battery life and delayed sound and control. They also can't be linked to the app. The sound quality I don't know how much is claimable but stating that the headphones have significant bass would probably work. Because with music, there are basically none.
