I bought this vacuum cleaner as new and from the first minute the same problem. After basic setup, the robot immediately launched into a software update that took over 40-50 minutes. I tried rebooting and nothing. I tried a factory reset and nothing. After more than two hours of waiting, the robot is still stuck in the update loop and cannot be controlled in any way. No button works, turning off Wi-Fi doesn't help, disconnecting from the charging station doesn't help. The device is completely blocked.
What shocks me the most is that a factory reset does nothing at all on a quality device should erase everything and start over as new. It won't happen here. Instead, I am trapped in an endless loop with no possibility of intervention. I watch other people and reviews and see that I'm not alone software problems with this model are quite common. A vacuum cleaner that depends on cloud servers just to function at all is a poorly designed product. I'm backing off and recommending everyone avoid this model.

This is our second iRobot (previously i7) and we are thrilled. Technologically, the mop is a big step forward for us. The beginnings are always harder before the robot learns and connects to the app, but after that everything works as it should.

The robot unpacks, sets up and plugs in without any problems. I definitely recommend adding a mopping water cleaner. It is not in the package. Dirty water should be poured out as soon as possible after cleaning, otherwise the container will smell bad.
The application is rather tragic. When you do manage to connect the robot to the app, it often loses the connection. Creating a room map works fine, but the app has three preset cleaning plans. It has the option to create a customized plan specifying the types of cleaning for each room. However, this plan cannot be saved, so if the presets don't suit you, you have to recreate it every time you clean. It's a few minutes, but a pain, because I would consider saving your own plan to be a basic functionality.
I definitely recommend using vacuum then mop instead of the preset vacuum+mop cleaning types. Otherwise, dust collects on the mops and clogs up the docking station sink when they are rinsed, creating a puddle of water under the station.
