I bought it for the plane (glider), where I have the glider navigation running on my phone and the main required parameters for me were:
- good grip of the suction cup - you don't want your phone to fall into your lap in turbulence during the flight, because the suction cup won't stay on the inside of the cabin plexiglass)
- good grip on the phone holder - you don't want your phone to fall into your lap in turbulence because the holder won't hold it
- good stiffness of the holder - you don't want the phone to shake in turbulence, plus you sometimes need to tap your finger on the display during the flight and you don't want it to wiggle and move in the holder in any way I'm just regularly thrilled with it, I've replaced about 3 different types of phone holders (none lasted more than half a year) and this one clearly wins by a difference of 2 classes.

gel suction cup holds well
the magnet is strong enough to keep the phone in place even with strong shocks and still comes off well
