Based on personal experience, I absolutely do not recommend buying the RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 unless you value your data at least a little. The RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 is a highly unstable device that deletes data after a few days, randomly deleting directories. The result/output of the R-Studio data recovery program I tried to recover data from RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 is attached. The RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 is for me a highly unstable device which I will be returning to Alza. Tested with 3,69 TB of data in the form of photos with a total of about 360.000 files in 11.000 directories on two computers + Raspberry PI. With two sets of discs. My setup was:
a) 2x 5TB Seagate Archive in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 SINGLE, 2x 5TB Seagate Archive in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 RAID 1.
2) 2x 2TB Western Digital RED 2TB in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 SINGLE, 2x Western Digital RED 2TB in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 RAID 1. Tested with Windows 11 Linux. Always after a few days with the same result. RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 disconnects and loses/deletes data. Only about 30% can be recovered with data recovery software. Sometimes the operating system reports overloading of the USB port - a large current consumption and the USB port is therefore also RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 disconnected until the restart of the computer. If you have RAID 0, 1, Large RAID set on RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 and you lose data in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 and you can't see the drives in RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 in Windows 11, there is no way to get the data back. I assume the RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 uses a proprietary format/logic for RAID 0, 1, Large. If you have RAID Single set on the RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3, i.e. RaidSonic Icy Box IB-RD3621U3 + 2x HDDs, the content of the drives can be seen with another USB 2 SATA HDD reduction and it is more likely to repair the data.
