Thanks to NVMe memory, the transfer speed in conjunction with USB 3.x is perfect. This also means the necessary transfer of waste heat. In the case of the ICY BOX, this is solved in such a way that not only is the heat-conducting rubber inside, but it is also covered by another sheet. So you can comfortably slide the whole solution in and out several times without irreparably damaging the heat conductive layer. The whole layer springs back, so excellent contact on the whole housing.
However, surge peak power consumption will cause even a USB 3.0 standalone powered HUB to not work long-term with a Raspberry Pi 4, which was my case. No problems with the PC.

High-quality and handy box for mounting M.2 NVMe SSDs (e.g. if you have an SSD left over after replacing it with a larger one in your laptop), then you have a fast external drive.
In active use, the surface gets quite hot, but this is protection related to the heat dissipation from the SSD -which is actually evidence of good cooling of the SSD - so it just has to be.
