The solution to the problem if the control board for your external HDD goes out. It happened to me on WD My BOOK. The disk was fine but the "book" no longer communicated with the PC. That's why this was the solution.
Easy to assemble - just slide the HDD into the frame.
No installation, it found the disk right away.
