I purchased the player to listen to audiobooks. Concerns about the playback method were allayed by an Alza expert, who wrote in response to two questions from other customers that the device can play the playlists they created. This is not true. After importing an audiobook, the device shuffles the tracks nonsensically, and you cannot revert the track order to the original state during playback. If you reconnect the device to the computer and look at the contents of the internal memory, everything is as it should be. However, when you disconnect from the computer, a short "creating file order" message appears on the display and you are right back where you were. I will therefore be returning the device.
